A couple of years ago I was in a small community in Södermanland in Sweden, called Nävekvarn.
On a walk with dogs and camera, just outside the community, I found this amazing tree.
A beech tree with initials, hearts and names engraved in the ancient tree trunk.
With a downfall just minutes away, I was in a bit of a hurry!
Twelve pictures were exposed at a fast speed with the same exposure.
Besides, I only had one lens with me, and that in no way was enough to cover the whole old tree.
So it did not become the crop I wanted then,
but when I scan the pictures today the details appear more clearly than they probably would if I had time to change lenses.
This also leaves a lot to the imagination, which I appreciate, and will keep in mind for upcoming photo tours.
Enjoy 🙂

Well done! The pictures, the first & the second in particular, are amazing!
Thank you very much, I’m happy you like them!
So beautiful. It makes you wonder how long that tree has been there.
Yes, I looked for info, but couldn’t find any, but it’s got to be several hundred years….
Giants in nature,giants of nature
Yes, they definitely are 😀
These are such beautiful photos. Trees – we take them so for granted at times – but these fill one with awe. If you ever get to the US, go to Washington State and visit the Hoh Rain Forest – centuries old cedars, moss, rocks – so awesome. You’ve made my morning with these photos!
Thank you very much, and you just made my evening with your kind comment! 🤗
Opposite sides of the world!!
Beautiful shots and I get entirely the subject matter I’m a self confessed tree hugger. They are wonderful gifts to this planet and I love making images of them.
Added to which of course you’ve used a gorgeous camera and glass to shoot em
Thank you very much! 🤗
