Tree Tuesday in winter wonderland

Today we have a shining bright and sunny, but bitterly cold winterday here in Sweden. Right now it is -17 degrees C outside and neither I nor my dogs want to go out…
I will probably take my camera with me, anyway, it’s just too beautiful outside to leave the camera at home.
So today, at Tree Tuesday, you will get a suitable picture, it was taken a few weeks ago, but this is how it looks today where I live.

Enjoy, and have a Happy Tree Tuesday!  🙂

  1. Wow -17 I just can’t even think how that would feel. I shiver if our temperature drops below 10 and we head north to find the warmth of our tropical winter!!!! It is such a beautiful scene, well caught the black and white is stunning it looks so fragile and delicate

    • Well, I’m rather pleased with it too, it is extremely beautiful when it is this cold, I just wish my fingers could appreciate it too.. 😉
Thank you very much for your kind words!

    • It is quite nice once I’m out, it’s just keep on moving to keep the warmth, so it becomes a problem to my hands when I stop to photograph something. And my dogs gets ice in theire paws, and that hurts when they are running. So when I stop to photograph, they stop to clear their paws…
      Thanks for your comment. 🙂

  2. Beautiful tones on this one. I’m not sure I want to join those who want to play in this weather. Being from warmer climes, makes me that much more sensitive to colder temperatures. My poor disabled mother in Holland has been snowed in for, what feels to her, like weeks. Lovely as always Marie. Have a great “tree Tuesday” and stay warm.

    • Hehe, are you freezing Joey? 😉
I think i’m gonna light a fire in the fireplace tonight…
Thanks a lot for your kind comment, and have a happy Tree Tuesday you too!

      • Not yet Marie, but your pictures make me go….brrrrr 😉
Marks want to know how you keep your shutter from freezing up in those temperatures, as well your lens from frosting up.
A fire in the fireplace sounds wonderful. 🙂

        • I always keep my camera in the camera bag when I don’t use it, and as long as it doesn’t get damp, it won’t freeze. So just keep it safe from that, and don’t change from cold to warm, and it will be okay.
And btw, a little frost on the lins (filter) can do miracle to the image! 😉

          • OK – that answers that question. I will relay the information to Marks.

We’re going to get our fire going in the fireplace. After all the temperatures are going down to about 6 degrees tonight. 😉

  4. Cold enough here but nothing like -17, in fact the snow’s melting. I was out today with a camera I haven’t used for several years but found it had a C41 film in it. If something appears when it’s developed maybe it’ll make a post. Lovely picture, as always.

    • Oh, I hope you’ll get a nice surprice when you develop the film! Please show it to us… 🙂
Thanks a lot for your kind words.
      Happy Tree Tuesday!

    • It’s actually not that bad, the air is very dry, so it doesn’t feel very cold, except for my fingers and the face…
Happy Tree Tuesday to you too! 🙂

  5. Marie, thank you for giving me the opportunity to paint one of your pictures. Your work captures the love that I have for landscapes and nature in general. Hopefully I will have time soon to paint it. When it is finished, I will post it informing the source of the portrait.

    Take care,

    • Thank you very much Joseph, it is a true pleasure. I’m very honored that you find my image inspirational, and I’m so looking forward to see your result! 🙂
I have a little suggestion for you, to make your image even better, I’m gonna mail it to you very soon.
My kind regards to you and your family.

    • Thanks a lot Madhu!
Yes, we are blessed with a very beautiful winter this year. Haven’t seen so much of the sun though, but it is very beautiful with snow and rime in the trees.
About the cold, well, I’m so used to it, but I could never stand the heat in your countries.
Wonderful world we live in, huh? 😉
