Forest Findings
I went to this place a very late afternoon to investigate how far the autumn colors had come. I had decided on a grove of very special trees, which I knew from before that they would be here.
The light was very weak and the sun was going down, but because I had loaded my camera with Kodak Portra 400 the images became surprisingly good.
The trees I was looking for? No, there were no pictures of them at all, maybe later, I’ll see.
An old stone wall in evening sunlight
The same image with different focus
A slightly toxic Red Toadstool
A tree fungus that I do not have a clue about the name, but check the color, clear blue!
An ancient oak tree
Then it was just minutes left to sunset, and I didn’t have my tripod with me, so this was the last image for the day.
Thank you Portra! 🙂
So beautiful! Cheers!
Thank you! 🙂
Very good shots, I used to use porta during much medium format days.
Thank you! I have recently rediscovered Portra, but it is a beautiful film, so I’m gonna use more of it. 🙂
Wow, stunning series of images. I can really appreciate the mood of the photos and I like the photo of the tree.
Cheers
Thank you very much!
I love that tree too, it is even more impressing irl, it is so very beautiful. I’m gonna take more photos of it 🙂
Very beautiful colors and as always, so much serenity 🙂
Thank you Steve.
I think autumn is my favourite time of the year, it is so serene itself, and the nature is taking a break too, it makes my stress handling a bit easier… Perhaps it shows in my images too.
What a fabulous old oak. Beautiful pictures. 🙂
Thank you very much! 🙂
I like Oak and mushrooms, and hallucination mushroom too 🙂
Oups…
I restrain myself to take photos of them….. 😉
Thank you very much, have a nice evening!
Lovely peaceful feeling to this set (and this place). I’ve just loaded one of my camera’s with Portra 400 (never used it before). Looking at your set I think I’m going to like it!
Thank you John! 🙂
I have used it a couple of times, but never really appreciated it until now. Yet I can see a slight cyan cast in some photos… Not sure I like that… But it is just in some of them, not in all, so my guess is that in some photos with a little bit of heaven in it, the cyan cast shows, even in the greens… But I’m not sure yet.
I look forward to your results of it, hope yours will be fine!
great feeling they have this pictures! I love the forest findings title. These days mushrooms grows as nuts! I run through forest and find 1,6kg of delicious mushrooms. I guess it’s Fukushima radiation, mushrooms love radiation 🙂
Thank you very much!
The title came to me when not finding what I was looking for, but instead I found these…
Oh, I hope you are wrong about Fukushima, my (silly) guess is they love rain… hehe… (The one positive thing with the never ending rain in Sweden…) 😉
You have very beautiful photos! Thanks for sharing and for dropping by my blog…see you soon.
Thank you too! 🙂
Outstanding and I shall say this again, Outstanding! Inspirational images with a real affinity to the forests
Thank you James, you are most kind! I hope to be able to catch some beautiful autumn colors, but it has been raining for weeks now, not much but all the time, and no light…
I know how you feel it has been very much the same here and because it is still mild autumn has not really taken a hold on the south coast
wow,! really beautiful pictures!
those trees, i want to hug them 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
I agree, I want to hug trees too, trees are very special to me, and I just love to photograph them. All year round…
The last image in this series is absolutely stunning! Gorgeous!
Thank you very much!
nice
I liked the old trees best of all.
Beautiful as always. Reminds of the walk I did yesterday, forests can be quite magical, where a small patch of sunlight hits the ground
Jag blir alldeles exalterad när jag tittar på dina bilder på ekarna…
Som en saga.
Alla bilder i denna post är underbara, men ekarna… 🙂
Fantatsiskt, Marie!!
Tack Malin!
Kram!
