Tree Tuesday – in colour or black and white?
Hello everyone!
I’m sorry for being absent lately, but I have had almost no time for blogging, and no weather for photography.
Or, should I say, no weather that is inspiring for me… Don’t know when I last saw the sun, must be over a month now… But, at the bottom, it can only be better, huh? 😉
This week I chose an image I took last autumn, and I couldn’t decide whether I liked it or not, so I did a monochrome conversion in Lightroom, and ended up with the regret of not having taken this image with black and white film.
But, I know where to find this gorgeous little tree, so it won’t be long before I have it properly photographed on black and white film. I just have to wait for the snow to vanish…
Which one do you like the most?
First the original
Then my black and white conversion
Enjoy, and have a great Tree Tuesday!! 🙂
I prefer it in colour…I love the goldish light…
Take care…Sun will come back…(I hope, here is raining again!!! )
I agree!
I just heard the weather report and we will have sun on Thursday, jihaa!!
Thank you very much both of you, and I wish you sunshine too! 🙂
Black & White!
🙂
Tack för din kommentar Malin!
perfect in colour, I think
wonderful
Thanks a lot Johan! 🙂
Not surprising, I will prefer the film B&W but the colour is good too. I’ve been in the same boat with weather but now it’s beautiful. However, it’s also perfect for working on the camper so no photography. But I couldn’t resist stopping on my way back from buying more ‘filler’ for the van and taking a couple of shots with Lomo’s dad – a Cosina CX-2 -which I hope to do a post on soon.
I’m looking forward to see your results with it, I’m sure they will be lovely!
You are right, this weather is a great opportunity to do something else for a while. Working on a camper sounds exciting, I guess you’ll use it for travel photography?
Thank you for your great comment, always appreciated! 🙂
hard to decide!
happy tree tuesday!
Thank you Jesús! 🙂
You just have to know that both of us are going to vote for the black and white. Lovely detail in those roots. I just love tree roots. They always transport me to mythical enchanted forests. Happy tree Tuesday. 🙂
Yes I know, and me too! I’m gonna go back this spring to take new photos of it, in both b&w and IR, and take my 4×5, it is a gorgeous tree, and I’m not done with it yet…. 😉
Happy Tree Tuesday to you too!
btw, my darkroom will be finished tomorrow….. hehe….. 😉
It’s a tough choice. I generally prefer black and white… But the light in the color version is absolutely beautiful, and sort of gets lost in the black and white version. They are both great photos, but for very different reasons! Hope you see some sunshine soon!!!
Thank you very much! 🙂

The black and white is rich with texture!
I did a Tree Tuesday this week:

Yes, I saw that, it is gorgeous!
Thank you very much, and Happy Tree Tuesday to you too! 🙂
I prefer the color version because of the beautiful, golden light and greater definition of what I am seeing, the moss on the tree roots and rock, for example. That being said, I still like the B&W version, too!
Thanks a lot Madelin! It was a lovely light that day… 🙂
hard decision but i prefer the black and white one!
happy tree tuesday 🙂
Thank you very much Evelyn! 🙂
colour 🙂
happy tree tuesday!
yours
apu
Thanks a lot Apu! 🙂
The BnW is dramatic but I love the rich autumn colours they paint a picture of the season
Thank you very much! 🙂
That golden light is too beautiful – and warm – to hide! 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
Good to see you Marie! I actually prefer the first shot of the tree in color. I feel like the black and white was much busier and distracted from the lovely tree itself. Happy Tree Tuesday (a day late) !
Thanks a lot Jana, a couple of weeks too late… It has been real crazy, but I hope to “be back” now.
IF I can stay away from my new darkroom, that is, hehe…. 😉
I love black and white pictures but in this case I prefer the colour version.
Thanks a lot Stephen! 🙂
I prefer the colour version. Likely because I miss the sun for weeks now.
Thanks a lot, and sorry for the very late answer…
The sun is finally back again, at least for right now. Let’s hope the spring is near… 🙂
I’ve done the ol’ ‘I’m sorry, I’ve been busy’ from time to time, but I find people are just so OK with it – because they understand. That’s life.
Anyway, wanted to say wonderful photos. Cheers 🙂
Thank you very much for your kind comment, I really appreciate it, and you are right, people do understand, but it feels kinda bad anyway, but I hope to “be back” again, it has been real crazy for a while now….
Great photo; prefer the color cuz of the contrast between the sunny and dark part! Greetings, Ron
Thanks a lot Ron, and I’m sorry for the late response….
Have a lovely day! 🙂
I love the autumn colors but the black and white has more drama to it I think. Both are very beautiful 🙂
