For most of my life I struggled with my always be good endeavor. To be good enough, perform, deliver, and so on ….
Unfortunately, it has also made its mark in my photography, until very recently when I returned to photograph with film, discovered Lomography and at the same time discovered this wonderful world of inspiration on the Internet.
Then my desire to try new things awakened, to explore areas of photography, of which I had never earlier actively approached.
So a few months ago I bought this little lovely yellow and black plastic box with no lens, but with three pin holes. The only setting that is possible with this small joy spreader is if I want to use one, two or three pin holes simultaneously.
There is no shutter, only a small plate which cover or uncover the pin hole.
The exposure is a challenge….
One thousand one, one thousand two, one thousand three ….. Yes, you get the picture …..
If I use multiple pin holes at the same time, the result is slightly psychedelic, which of course can be used in a very creative way.
IF I am learning to manage it properly, ie …..
Until that happens, I will only embrace the pleasure of loading beautiful film in this exquisite little plastic container ….
For purely tangible, I realized what wise saying “Only those who goes astray, find new paths to wander” means.
Life is good!!! =)
Isn’t it kinda sad, that when I found “The Film of My Life”, it is discontinued…..
This time of year, I just love to mount my macrostuff on my cameras and look for the tiny things that we so often doesn’t take the time to see in nature.
And for that purpose I find this film just exquisite.
It is so creamy, with fine beautiful grains and smooth colours, just like nature itself.
Though the film contrast is low, it does not give the impression of a low-contrast image, just creamy smoothness of a soft whisper…..
I have vacuumed the market after this film, I bought Adoramas last stock (the customs were not cheap …..), bought the last from Lomography.
I’ve even been looking in Japan.
So is there anyone out there who know of any stock of this wonderful film, please, please please let me know!
PLEASE Fuji, let this beautiful wonderful film come back to life again!
I have recently discovered double exposures, yes, I know it sounds really really silly coming from one that have photographed for decades…..
But my whole life, I have been the “good girl” and everything had to be controlled and exact…. But that changed, thanks god!
And when I rediscovered film photography, I had just turned 50, and my lust for adventure and new discoveries had awakened.
And as you all propably know;
Adverture is the result of poor planning
And that is one of the things that I just LOVE about double exposures; you’ll NEVER know what’s coming out of a double, regardless the planning….. =)
So, my friends, never underestimate the result of poor planning!
It may change your whole life! =)
