Weekly Photo Challenge – DELICATE

I find it hard to imagine anything more delicate than a beautiful flower heart. Sheer, beautiful and delicate, yet so strong.

She resists both rain and wind if she will be left alone. Therefore, I rarely pick flowers, I photograph them instead.
Here photographed with my beloved Holga with macro lens, and a deliberately overexposed Kodak Portra 400, to also bring out the delicate characteristics of the film.

Enjoy!  🙂

  1. Really lovely Marie, as always. My interpretation of this theme, ‘Delicate’, would be a pic of your making a flower photo – that’s really delicate. (Glad you liked my haiku for you).

    • Thank you very much for your kind words Luddy, most appreciated!
It is kinda hard to decide and find the right balance between to abstract, and not enough abstract…. But that one is good, I agree…

    • Thanks a lot Jana! Yes, I started to do my own C41 earlier this year, and now it has became a habit… Really pleased with the results, and it is so much cheaper than taking the films to the lab. E6 still goes to the lab though…

  2. The heart of the flower – I’d never thought of the inner area of a flower to be its heart. I rather like that. Of course it goes without saying these Holga macro shots are stunning. Soft, and elegant I could think of few ways better than this to depict the beauty of a flower.

    • Thanks a lot Jeff! Happy you like them! To be honest… The “heart” is due to Google translation… hehe… but I like it too 🙂
Very very sorry for the late answer… Time is crazy…..
