Weekly Photo Challenge – DELICATE
I find it hard to imagine anything more delicate than a beautiful flower heart. Sheer, beautiful and delicate, yet so strong.
She resists both rain and wind if she will be left alone. Therefore, I rarely pick flowers, I photograph them instead.
Here photographed with my beloved Holga with macro lens, and a deliberately overexposed Kodak Portra 400, to also bring out the delicate characteristics of the film.
Enjoy! 🙂

I have to agree with you. These are absolutely beautiful. 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
Hi, I have nominated you for the Sunshine Award! If you are interested, check my post: http://dreamlenz.com/2012/12/15/award-nominations/ Congratulations, have a great day 🙂
Thank you, that was very kind!
Really lovely Marie, as always. My interpretation of this theme, ‘Delicate’, would be a pic of your making a flower photo – that’s really delicate. (Glad you liked my haiku for you).
Haha, that would be the day! 😀
Thank you for your kind words, and yes, I liked your haiku very very much!
These are so exquisite Marie, they personify delicate on ever level…
Love them
Thank you so much, I’m glad you like them! 🙂
All so beautiful, Marie, but the third one is just perfect in its abstraction! I love it.
Thank you very much for your kind words Luddy, most appreciated!
It is kinda hard to decide and find the right balance between to abstract, and not enough abstract…. But that one is good, I agree…
Beautiful ethereal whimsical colors and soft detail. Not sure which one I love more, but I think it might be number 1. Great job Marie. 🙂
Thank you very much! 🙂 I like that one too, the colors get so creamy and sweet when overexposed.
wow oh wow….these are divine!!!
Thanks a lot!! 🙂
Very very sorry for the late answer…..
these are stunning marie, truly beautiful!
Thanks a lot Evelyn! 🙂
I love your creed: photograph the flowers don’t pick them…:-)
Yes, they live longer that way, both irl and in my images… 😉
Thank you!
Love these colors by the way…
Portra is a great film to overexpose when there is good light in the image, the colors get really creamy and nice… 🙂
Exquisite work and home developed? inspiring! The lovely soft colors here are lovely, delicate and sweet. Beautiful work!
Thanks a lot Jana! Yes, I started to do my own C41 earlier this year, and now it has became a habit… Really pleased with the results, and it is so much cheaper than taking the films to the lab. E6 still goes to the lab though…
Beautiful, ethereal, delicate – gorgeous!
Thank you very much Sue! 🙂
The heart of the flower – I’d never thought of the inner area of a flower to be its heart. I rather like that. Of course it goes without saying these Holga macro shots are stunning. Soft, and elegant I could think of few ways better than this to depict the beauty of a flower.
Thanks a lot Jeff! Happy you like them! To be honest… The “heart” is due to Google translation… hehe… but I like it too 🙂
Very very sorry for the late answer… Time is crazy…..
great trick with overexposing! It looks devine!
Thank you! Yes, I read that is a trick at wedding photography, they do that to achieve the nice creamy look, so I tried that, and I must say I like it too… 🙂
