Photographing photographers in New York
To find some kind of “themes” among all my NY images, I had to mark the “good” ones out, sort them along eachother in Lightroom and look for consistent similarities.
It then struck me that one of the “themes” was this; photographing photographers! One theme that I was not aware of when I did it.
Looks kinda fun when they are put together like this, huh?
Nice Idea : Photographers photographing Photographers. I enjoyed seeing the images. 🙂
Thank you very much! I’m glad you like them! 🙂
This is great Marie. It would in fact make a great project for a day out – in a tourist town like York for instance. I might take a film and have a go at it when I’ve a couple of hours to spare in the city.
Thank you! Yes, I wish I have had it in mind when I did this, this just kinda happened, and I saw it first when I overlooked all the images in Lightroom. It would be fun to go out on the streets with this as a target. Photographers are everywhere! 😉
Love this! I always wonder how I look to other people when I’m taking photos.
Oups, didn’t think of that…. Yes, I agree! 🙂
Hahaha, boy am I glad I wasn’t there! There have been several photos taken of me while I concentrate on getting my shot and I look so bizarre! Still, I think there’s value in paying attention to the physical stance of photographers as they concentrate on their cameras. Mahalo!
Hehe, I wouldn’t like being the target either! 😀
I have to admit this happened mostly because I don’t like the usual “tourist photo”, but still, when I finally got to NY, I couldn’t resist seeing some of those places, and to make the image more interesting, I just put some people in the foreground, and, voila, there was some photographers among them…. 😉
Thanks a lot Jana, your visit and comment are as always most appreciated!
This was a great idea! I have enjoyed your film photos. Thanks for liking my flower photo. It had minor enhancement in Photoshop to bring out its details, courtesty of SmilingToad.
How could I forget, I was in Baltimore a month ago and took the train to NYC for just Saturday night. I really enjoyed my time there. The dynamic energy even on a Saturday was so clear. I am looking for work there. I got to the Brooklyn Bridge and Times Square, but not much else! That’s awesome you can travel the world to get those shots.
Just bought an old Polaroid Land 104, after finding film can still be bought! Still getting things up but hope to put up polaroids soon.
Good luck with your searching for work, I hope you find one you like, where you wish to be! 🙂
And you are right about the dynamic energy in NYC, it was incredibly, I really love that city, and hope to go there again. I have so much images from NYC, so I think it gonna be a couple more posts from my visit there.
Thank you very much for your kind words, I’m glad you like my work!
Thanks for your grand post. It would be super to get work there! I keep looking. Steve
I hold my thumb for you! 🙂
Thank you very much!
A terrific ide and collection of images Marie and personally the B&W images are my favourites.
Thank you so much James! I’m glad you like them!
I have loads of images from NYC, it take time to go through them all and sort the good ones out. So I most likely gonna post several more of them….
A very good project. You appear to have a good mixture of happy snappers and more serious ones – or at least they have bulkier equipment!
Yes, there were all kinds, and it was more fun to photograph them photographing the tourist traps, than taking those images myself…
Thanks a lot for your kind comment!
