Weekly Photo Challenge – THANKFUL

In Sweden we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving. But I think that everyone should do it anyway, it’s a beautiful feast.

I am thankful for so endlessly many things. My two sons, my wonderful friends, my dogs, that it is so beautiful where I live, etc. etc..

But the basis for all this is still our Mother Earth.
The air we breathe, the sun that shines on us and brings life, water that makes that every living creature can exist.

Most of this can be seen in this humble little beautiful flower.
The blue behind her is heaven.
The film I used is Kodak Ektachrome 100VS.
The image is completely unedited, only cropped to the correct size, and a little dust removal.

We should be thankful every day!

Enjoy, and be thankful for your life.

  1. Thanksgiving is easily my favorite American holiday. It has all the joy of christmas minus the stress and hassle of buying gifts for everyone (though that stress begins the very next day for many people). This image is a wonderful way to say thanks to mother earth and all she provides us. The blue and green tones of Kodak Ektachrome 100VS capture is quite nice.

    • Thank you very much Jeff!
Well, if I could choose, I would rather have Thanksgiving instead of Christmas. It is just like you say, far to much stress and crazyness… But it will hopefully be a life after Chrismas this year also… 😉
About the Ektachrome; most often I want slightly more muted colors than this, and for macro florals I rather choose Astia. But just for this I think it worked quite well.
