My new fling – A bokehlicious lens!

Inspired by some of for me new groups on Flickr, and what appears to be “in vogue” right now, I found for next to nothing on Ebay this old Russian lens with M42 mount. Adapters which allows you to connect the lens to your desired camera is also available for a song on Ebay. Incomparable is the bokeh that can be achieved! But because in Sweden we have not yet spring and there is still no fresh spring green, I chose to photograph with black and white film, making the images more abstract than they would have been with color film.
I look forward to future adventures with this lens (and even a Zenit E that I also bought almost shamefully inexpensive at the same time) and some spring sunshine and rich greenery.

Until then, enjoy 🙂

    • It was quite unreal to look through the viewfinder too, and when I had developed the film and looked through the magnifying glass, I almost didn’t recognise the images… As from a different universe….Very abstract! I have done a lot of macro photography but this feels quite new, and very nice….

  1. Great series.

Some of those Russian lenses 🙂 marvellous things.
I’m sure most people don’t realise how good they are, because: 1. they are cheap 2. Russian (USSR) & the Zent is like a tank ! but get a good one (mechanically) & it will go on forever.

    • I totally agree with you, they feel vey sturdy. I’ve also bought a Zenit E, but haven’t yet had the time to try it, but wow, it weighs a ton 😂and was even cheaper than these lenses.
